New CLES School and Lots of Activities
Whew, what a month. LOTS of things happening here have kept me from updating AWCAOnline and our Weblog as much as I'd like, but I'm working to get a handle on it. One thing I have noticed is that in Firefox, the navigation buttons at the top for our menu is pushing the "Contact Us" button down. In IE and others, it looks great; in Firefox, though, there's obviously a spacing issue.
Therefore, I have been working on a new AWCAOnline website that follows Web 2.0 formatting. A nicer, more 3D look, plus it looks great in all of the major browsers. Things are easier to find, too, and I've placed our more popular areas right up front so that you can get to them faster.
Now then. On to the updates.
First, we have another Distance Learning Program Continued Learning Extension School available. Metrolina, North Carolina now has a CLES program available, so check them out if you are in the area.
Next, I'm almost finished with the final edit and photos/ videos for Volume 4: Biu-Tze, with Volume 5: Muk-Yan-Chong not far behind. There's tons of information here, though, so I want to ensure that you are getting a complete workbook vs. a half-baked resource just to "get it out there." But work continues so I'll be making that available just as soon as possible.
Third there's the Wing Chun Virtual Trainer. This site has been a passion of mine for quite a few years, and just when I was ready to make it available, I had to switch webhosts. Well, the database became corrupted and (stupid me) I didn't have the cron jobs set up right that would automatically back up the databases. And for whatever reason I also didn't have copies of the main videos, either (don't ask me why; I'm still scratching my head at that one).
Needless to say, we've been working to re-film the videos and get them ready, and simultaneously, I'm working to get the site ready again. But no worries; the project is by no means scrapped and you WILL be seeing it soon (and believe me, this will be a resource that you will NOT want to be without). Professional, efficient and VERY affordable for what you are going to see.
Now we come to AWCA Notes and the Weblog.
AWCA Notes is one of my all-time favorite things to make available, but because I have so many projects being worked on, I've been a bit "lax" in that area. Sometimes I get so swamped that I just don't get to it. However, I am working on bringing all issues current, so please bare with me. The newsletter is NOT going away and it will be back up to speed shortly.
The AWCA Weblog also got "caught up in the fray" of many projects, so I've been a bit negligent in keeping it updated, too. That will change, and today I'll be posting some thoughts about Chi-sau, Lap-sau and Lat-sau.
Finally, 2008 is seeing plans underway for our annual training camp, which will be happening this year in Kissimmee, Florida. Available exclusively for the AWCA so that our DLP members can get hands-on training directly with us, I'm seeing a lot of excitement for the event already so it is sure to be a great experience.
So, for everyone wondering if I fell off the world, no. I'm still here and still working (just a bit bogged down with so many things). But I "think" I'm making some headway with all of the great changes and resource additions being planned, so please continue to check here often for all of the truly phenomenal training opportunities you are about to see. |
