"Wing Chun for Kids"
Teen and Pre-teen Training in Wing Chun for Self-Defense
"Wing Chun for Kids" is currently being produced. While waiting for its release, I recommend subscribing to AWCA Notes for immediate notification of its availability.

"Wing Chun for Kids" was created to address the concerns of parents who want to ensure that their children have a "fighting chance" if they are ever assaulted. Written with both the parent and instructor in mind, it addresses the many areas that are essential for correct training where teens and pre-teens are concerned.
Unlike most arts, Wing Chun is an adult art. It was not meant to be taught to children and most of the foundational training requires a body structure that is already completed growing. For example, the Character "Two" Adduction stance (Yee-chi-kim-yeung-ma) can severely deform a young one's knees because of the consistent stressed placed on these joints. Therefore, anyone training a teen or pre-teen needs to be aware of these factors so that they do not set their child up for problems in the future.
"Wing Chun for Kids" addresses these many areas, as well as showing adults how to approach the mindset of a little one when engaged in training. And, because it is written and endorsed by the Arizona Wing Chun Association, you are assured of a professional publication that takes into account the safety and legitimacy of what we do.
